Title11th Street, West from McGee
DescriptionPostcard of 11th Street, West from McGee
Historical ArticleEleventh Looking West by Night From Hotel Kupper, Kansas City, Mo. is the title of an old post card mailed to Omaha in 1913 and showing the hotel's 11th Street entrance at the left. There was also a McGee Street entrance.

The centrally located 200-room, six-story hotel, on the European plan and with excellent cuisine, was managed by Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Mars, who earlier had managed the Blossom House located across the street from the old Union Depot in the West Bottoms.

Extending over the sidewalk at the right is the Moore Photographer sign. Automobiles are parked parallel to the curb on both sides of the street, with Peck's rooftop sign in the background at Main.

The Kupper Hotel, with rates of $1 a night, was a popular place for out-of-town shoppers, especially since Emery Bird Thayer's was only half a block away.
